Those of you who followed the Surrey 4 Lejog last year will know that I, Mrs Bobbo, was back up support, lunch provider and blog author on a fantastic trip where Bob, Geoff, Martin and Tony cycled from Lands End to John O Groats in 8 days and raised in excess of £4,000 for charity.
This year is very different – our team of 4 has grown to a team of 11 cyclists which includes two intrepid riders who have flown all the way from South Africa to take part in the challenge.
I should point out that this is a fairly mature group of men. They are understandably cagey about revealing details of their age but we have several in their 50’s with the youngest a mere pup of 38. I think they’re an inspiration to us all and look forward to many capers over the next 100 hours!

A note from the riders
Eleven of us are cycling the Pyrenean Raid: 720km from Hendaye on the Atlantic coast to Cerbere on the Mediterranean coast in 100 hours with an ascent of 11,000m (33,000 feet).
The Raid Pyrenean includes all famous mountain passes that feature in the Tour de France (Col de Tourmalet, Col d’Aubisque, Col de Peysourde, Col de Peyresourde etc.....).
We have decided to put all our suffering up these mammoth mountains to good use and raise sponsorship for the following two charities:
a) Breakthrough Breast Cancer (the UK's leading charity committed to fighting breast cancer through research, campaigning and education, and
b) Operation Wallacea (a research and conservation charity that run a series of projects in developing countries to manage and conserve endangered species and preserve the culture of local communities).
Please assist us in raising sponsorship for these 2 worthy causes by sending us cheques made payable to “Cancer Research” and “Operation Wallacea” to our home addresses. We will then present all the sponsorship cheques to these deserving charities.

Another enjoyable account.
Just a tip about applying that udder cream without causing an outbreak by cross infection. Buy a roll of Snappy bags, scoop some cream into a bag, squeeze to one corner (like an icing bag), snip corner and squeeze slowly.
